Written for Kammerensemble für Neue Musik’s HouseMusik event at Siemens factory (Dynamowerk), Berlin, on 20th June 2009, and first performed there by Ringela Riemke, with sound diffusion by André Bartetzki and distortion by the composer.

The cellist plays amplified cello and also operates a footpedal with a metal-scrape sample on it. One foot rests on a metal plate, periodically scraping it. A playback track of further metal sounds provides additional timbral context for the cellist’s performance.
