Ring a Ring

Solo for piano and electronic pocket piano (or any synth)

RING A RING is a cut-up of the second movement (Sehr schnell) of Webern’s Variations, op. 27 (1938), and follows WHEN THE WIND BLOWS, which is a cut-up of the first movement (Sehr mäßig).

RING A RING is dedicated to my daughter Emilia, as WHEN THE WIND BLOWS is dedicated to my son Magnus.

Commissioned by Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin, for the festival DOOFE MUSIK
Premiered at HKW by Ernst Surberg on 8th May 2014

First UK performance by Rolf Hind at OCCUPY THE PIANOS festival, St Johns Smith Square, London, 31st May 2014

Released on limited 500 edition vinyl 'Pocket Symphonies', August 2015, on the Berlin electronic label Martin Hossbach - also available digitally on iTunes etc.
