Thresh

THRESH is the second of two semi-staged pieces written for Speak Percussion, both of which explore extremely reduced lighting in connection with an object-based or post-instrumental approach to sound. Within a paradigm of miniscule variables, control and volatility are tightly bound up in one another, and in THRESH the musicians’ engagement with tiny details is punctuated by more demonstrative gestures that open up the x/y axis in a different way. All things have their own impact and resonance.

Thresh was commissioned by the Darmstadt Summer School 2018, for Speak Percussion’s Fluorophone programme.
